NOTICE TO THE MEMBERS OF SURFSIDE BEACH MOOSE LODGE: It is very important for the Lodge to have your correct contact information on file. Many times, we move, change cellular phone providers, change our email servers and email address with the DMV, utility companies, banks, and other billing sources, but forget to change it with our Lodge. (I know there’s always one or two that I forget to change.) If you have the wrong address: You will not receive our Bi-monthly Newsletter or correspondences from Moose International. If you changed you phone # or went from a house phone to a cellular phone: We will not be able to contact you to remind you to renew your dues or reach you in an emergency situation. If you changed your email address (ex. Went from AOL or Yahoo to Gmail): You will not receive reminders from the Lodge or in the near future, email blasts to the entire Lodge re: Lodge activities or last-minute notices. No need to worry about the security of this info the Lodge will never give your personal contact information out to anyone. It only uses it for in-house use.
There are two ways to make these changes to your contact information:

Wonderful news from our Chef:
Beginning September 1st our kitchen will be offering a choice of four nightly dinner specials. These specials will be available from Monday through Saturday starting at 4:30pm until 8pm. Sundays will have our Football menu available. Your dinner choices will be: Chicken Parm served over spaghetti, Pot roast dinner w/ mashed tators & veggie, Corned beef platter served w/mashed tators & veggie, or a different “fish of the day” special with side. All of these will be offered as a “Your Choice” $10. Just as a reminder to all…… Lunch specials end at 4:30pm
Our Membership Retention Chairman Tom Brown does a fantastic job of reminding expired and about to expire Members to renew their dues. But, with well over 4,000 Members this task has become monumental. He needs a hand making phone calls and sending post cards to those tardy Members. If you could please lend a hand, contact Tom at the Lodge. He usually picks one day a month to accomplish this task. Thank you to any and all volunteers.
Surfside Beach Moose Lodge welcomed our Moose Chairman of the Board Paul Curtis on Friday August 6th. He stopped by for lunch at the Lodge along with his wife Bonnie.
Check presentation to our Moose COB Paul Curtis from our Lodge for Special Olympics. See more pics under Photos/Videos tab.
Ever wonder what all those wooden Moose were on the Lodge walls in the Social Quarters? One of our talented Moose members hand crafts each wooden Moose in his home workshop. We are still accepting orders for member to have their own Moose on the walls of the Social Quarters. If you wish to have a Moose made with your name or to honor someone else, please see the Administrator for details.
Pool is flourishing at the Lodge. Come join in on the fun and competitions Monday & Thursday nights 7 – 10pm.
Great News! The Kids Play Room has been re-opened and is already getting used by our future Moose members.
ATTENTION ALL MEMBERS AND CO-WORKERS….. WE NEED YOUR CANS! THE LODGE DEPENDS ON THE INCOME WE HAVE BEEN GETTING FOR TURNING IN OUR CANS. SINCE THE COVID STARTED, WE HAVE LOST ALMOST ALL OF OUR SUPPLIERS. PLEASE BRING ANY/ALL BEVERAGE CANS YOU MAY HAVE AT HOME TO OUT TRAILER IN THE PARKING LOT WHENEVER POSSIBLE. IT WILL GREATLY HELP THE LODGE AND YOU WILL BE DOING YOUR PART TO HELP RECYCLE TOO. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY BEVERAGE CANS PLEASE. NO FOOD CANS. THANK YOU……YOUR BOARD OF OFFICERS.
PER A MEMBERS SUGGESTION, THE LODGE WILL ADD A “VAN ACCESSIBLE” HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE.
The Moose will once again partner with NASCAR driver Ross Chastain and the Chip Ganassi Racing (CGR) team to help promote the Fraternity throughout North America. Chastain, who flashed the Moose Fraternity logo during three NASCAR Xfinity Series races and one Cup Series race last year, has moved to the Cup Series full-time in 2021 as he races the CGR No. 42 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE for the entire season. The Moose will be the primary sponsor for four races during the current season, and an Associate Sponsor for a minimum of 18 additional races throughout the year. Further, the Moose will have a personal services agreement with Chastain, a member of Tice and the Shores Florida Moose Lodge 1297, for the entire season.“ Last year, the races we participated in averaged between 1,000,000-3,000,000 viewers each, and along with additional marketing with NASCAR online, we were able to at least triple the traffic on our website and social media sites,” Director General Scott Hart stated. “This was all done within a very short time frame in the midst of an unprecedented pandemic, so as our lodges get back in business, we expect an even bigger impact in 2021.” Members can root for Ross all season long, but especially during those races when the Moose is the primary car sponsor. Those races include the Drydene 400 at the Dover International Speedway on May 16; the FireKeepers Casino 400 at the Michigan International Speedway on August 22; the Federated Auto Parts 400 at the Richmond Raceway on September 11; and the Bass Pro Shops Night Race at the Bristol Motor Speedway on September 18. The last two races are part of the playoffs at the end of the NASCAR season, promising even larger audiences for the Moose.
REMINDER TO ALL MEMBERS: NO OUTSIDE DRINKS OR CONTAINERS ARE ALLOWED INSIDE THE LODGE. THIS INCLUDES WATER BOTTLES AND TO-GO CUPS.
BECAUSE OF THE STATE’S RELAXING OF IT’S COVID-19 GUIDLINES DUE THE SHRINKING NUMBER OF COVID-19 CASES AND MOST OF THE POPULATION HAVING BEEN VACCINATED, AS OF MAY 10TH, OUR EMPLOYEES NOW HAVE THE OPTION OF WEARING A FACEMASK. IT IS NO LONGER MANDATORY.
THE MOOSE CAMPAIGN SLOGAN COINCIDING WITH OUR ONE MOOSE CHANGEOVER FOR 2021 – 2022 IS “STRONGER TOGETHER.” As of May 1st, the WOTM are now members of the Moose Fraternity and will work side by side along with the Moose Legion to help advance women and men to their higher degrees while assisting in fund raising activities for the Lodge and it’s Charities.

FROM THE PRESIDENT:
I would like to welcome all our ladies to the lodge as we become One Moose. I look forward to an exciting and productive year.
I would also like to congratulate all our newly elective officers of both the LOOM and the WOTM.
As we begin our new year please note that the starting time for our lodge meetings is now 6:30 PM commencing May 10th. Women can now attend these meetings, vote and make motions.
Entertainment continues every night except Mondays so come out and enjoy.
We continue to see an increase in our members returning to enjoy the numerous activities we offer. We continue to be short handed in the kitchen as well as wait staff, so once again I ask for your patience on busy nights as it will take time to get your orders out to you.
Finally I look forward to being one Moose and all that we can achieve.
Clay Marcoux, President
